Favorite Fall Crockpot Chili Recipe

Happy October babes! Our home smells of spices, apples and there are pumpkins through out the house. This season is by far my favorite. And gives off all the cozy vibes. I've got the itch to bust out my crockpot and indulge in my favorite cold-weather (not yet here in the south but I can totally pretend, right?) comfort food favs, likeeee chili! I'm no food blogger but I love swapping recipes so today, I’m sharing my favorite crockpot chili recipe with you,  It’s super simple and so tasty.

Ingredients

  • Ground meat (beef, chicken or turkey)
  • Onion
  • Kidney beans
  • Chili beans
  • Chili seasoning
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Tomato paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • Garlic
  • *For a kick you can add either rotel or cayenne pepper.

Here is basically how I make my chili

  • First melt butter + garlic on a non-stick pan, add meat of choice. Sprinkle with salt + pepper. Brown the meat, drain.
  • I cheat and tend to use a chili seasoning packet. Before putting the meat into the crockpot pour seasoning on meat of choice, add in tomato paste and stir - bring to a light boil. Then empty into the crockpot.
  • Then gather and dump all the other ingredients into the crockpot on top of the meat with 1/4 a can of bone broth or water then stir together. EASY PEASY.
  • Let it cook for eight hours on low or four hours on high. I personally prefer low. To me, it makes the chili much more flavorful as the meat soaks up the good juices from the sauce.

After the right amount of hours have past, turn to warm. Serve chili solo or serve with cornbread for more heartiness. Then add your toppings of choice! I sprinkle cheddar cheese over the chili then top with sour cream (or Greek yogurt) + Guac. Delish!

This chili is thick, hearty, and seriously soul-warming. Which makes pretty much the perfect meal for any Fall day, especially game day! Hope you enjoy babes.
